PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Program
Introducing you to the Adventures in diving...

If you are a certified Open Water Diver who want to increase your competency level, improve your diving knowledge and skills, dive at new locations and expand your diving horizon, this program is for you! The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed to provide the novice and adventure divers with a structured, well-supervised means to gain the practical experience needed after the initial certification.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver ManualCourse Overview
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program is an in-water performance based program that requires each student to participate in 2 core dives and 3 other elective dives.

Core dives orient students to the fundamentals of advanced diving and include:

- Underwater Navigation - CORE Dive
- Deep Diving - CORE Dive

3 of the elective dives are selected from the following:

  • AWARE - Fish Identification

  • Boat Diving

  • Drift Dive

  • Multilevel and Computer Dive

  • Night Dive

  • Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive

  • Search and Recovery Dive

  • Wreck Dive

Certification
Successful completion of the course requires you to have:

1. Completed, reviewed and understand Scuba Tune-Up assessment.
2. Completed, reviewed and understand the Core and all elective dives' knowledge reviews
3. Performed and Logged all elected (3) dives and 2 Core Dives

On completion, you will be awarded the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card, an internationally recognized recreational diving license. Earning the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification enables you to buy or rent scuba equipment and dive without direct instructor supervision worldwide. You will also be able to participate in wider range of recreational dives.

Opportunities
Each dive in the Advanced Open Water Diver Course serves as an introduction to a specialty-diving topic. Therefore, unlike other courses, each dive made as part of the Advanced Open Water Diver course may be credited towards the certification requirements of the related specialty course. The dives may be applied toward the Underwater Navigator Specialty, Deep Diver Specialty, Night Diver Specialty, etc.

  • Minimum age - 10 years old

  • Be certified as an Open Water Diver or Equivalent rating

  • Complete Medical History form (medical clearance, if required)

  • Sign Liability Release (Waiver) and Express Assumption of Risk form

  • Sign Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding
