The
small East Coast State of Terengganu has long been
on the tourist map. Pulau Perhentian is West Malaysia's
northernmost island group. It lies in the South China
Sea, 21km off the coast of Terengganu, The two main
islands are Pulau Perhentian Besar (the big), and
Pulau Perhentian Kecil (the little).
A
trip to this lush and exotic tropical island is a must
for all nature lovers and those who enjoy scuba diving
& snorkeling. This spectacular island is lushed
with exotic tropical greenery and sandy beaches. Because
of their relative isolation, the marine life in the
surrounding waters is largely intact. Divers prize Perhentian's
small constellation of rocky islets for their giant
soft corals, large schools of pelagic fish, and the
nocturnal sea shells which are sometimes spotted in
the shallow channel between the two main islands.
