1996 - With the simple objective of providing
diving education for individuals who are keen in becoming
a certified diver to explore the underwater world, the
dive business was established in 1996 as a partnership
business entity. It was then called "Dive Irei".
The store was first situated in Bukit Batok and later
moved to No. 17 Rose Lane, where the business grown
upon its strengths, in sure and steady steps.
1997 - In search of service excellence, the
dive business registered as a PADI Dive Center and was
assigned the store membership number of 6113. During
the same year, the dive center aquired a 48-foot dive
boat, making conventional diving off bum-boats a thing
of the past.
1998 - A milestone year whereby the dive center
was awarded PADI 5 Star Dive Center rating. The dive
center has grown to become a fully equipped dive center
staffed by a young and dynamic crew with independent
training facilities. The number of PADI certified Open
Water Divers awarded by the dive center accounted for
12.5% of the total certification in Singapore. With
21 PADI affiliated dive centers in Singapore, this figure
sets the dive center at 7.8% above the market average.
For PADI Advanced Open Water Divers, the dive center
is 2.5% above the market average. (Figures released

1999 - Incorporation of Irei Singapore Private
Limited, which took over the management of the dive
center. Focusing the operation towards the educational
aspect of scuba diving, the dive center has attained
the rating of PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center.
2000 - Opened its new store at Novena Square.
2001 - The dive center changed its name to
51 Scuba, with 51 Scuba Private Limited taking over
the management of the dive center. Operation was moved
back to No. 17 Rose Lane.
2002 to 2003 - The dive center relocated its
dive operation into its own unit at Lobby C, Ubi Techpark.
2004 - Opening of its retail shop at 147A
Telok Ayer Street in end 2004.
2006 - Dive Shop moved to upbeat location at
33 Mohd Sultan Road in Jan 2006
